Waasen

The former “Wassen-Vorstadt” is very close to the centre of Leoben and connected to it via the distinctive Waasen bridge.

The landmark of Waasen is the Gothic “Maria am Waasen” church, the highest building and one of the oldest churches in Leoben. A very unique sight is the sculpture of the balancing miner who walks the tightrope high up in the air across Waasenstraße street.
