Commercial centre Leoben
Leoben is one of the cities in Austria which have the highest pedestrian volumes. The Leoben City Shopping (LCS) shopping centre in the heart of the old town is an important part of a lively city centre. 3. Education and Training
The Montanuniversität is one of Austria’s leading universities. The technical university was founded in 1840 and trains specialists in different fields of engineering sciences. Several additional research institutions and networks as well as education and training opportunities round out the spectrum of options at the university.

Leoben, however, is not only a university city but also offers a variety of child care facilities and schools. With regard to secondary schools, Leoben offers two renowned academic secondary schools; as well as the HLW Leoben (upper secondary school for economic professions), with practice-oriented specialisations and the HTL Leoben (upper secondary technical school) with specialisations in raw materials technology, materials engineering or logistics.
