Studies at the Montanuniversity are split into 3 sections, each lasting one full year:

The first section (4 terms) addresses the basics. The year is generally used for introduction and orientation. As a result, at the end of the first year, all students have the option to select their preferred section without problems.

The second section (3 terms) broadens the basics and specializes.

The third section (3 terms) concludes the studies with the master thesis.

After completing all three sections, every student is awarded the academic title "certified engineer". An additional Thesis leads to the title "doctor of the Montan science" (Dr. mont.).
